PowerDirector is a capable consumer NLE wrapped in terms that ban the work this audience does. CyberLink's Terms of Service, which by its own preamble governs "the website, software, mobile applications, plug-ins" and more, prohibits user submissions that "contain nudity (including without limitation any pornography, erotica, child pornography or child erotica)" and reserves judgment for anything "otherwise objectionable in the opinion of CyberLink." Every generative AI feature, the product's whole 2026 pitch, carries an explicit NSFW ban on top.
The gray zone is local-only editing. The nudity clause attaches to content you submit to or on the Service, so cutting local files on the $139.99 perpetual PowerDirector 2026, which works offline after activation, is arguably outside it. But arguably outside is not a license that permits adult content, CyberLink reserves termination for violations, and the current desktop EULA is not retrievable online to check. We do not recommend building an adult workflow on a vendor whose terms you have to read this hard.
If you use it anyway. Keep adult material away from every AI and cloud feature, prefer the perpetual edition over the 365 subscription ($59.99 to $79.99 a year as listed), and note the hardware bar is low: 8GB RAM minimum, 16GB recommended, with 2K/4K export in H.264 and H.265.
